 FOREWORD

        This year of B.E. 2535 marks the 60^th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand.  On this auspicious occasion, as a part in demonstrating the loyalty, admiration, and joy of the people towards Her Majesty’s far reaching and highly visible compassion, Dhammayuttika Nikaya, the Mahamakuta Rajavidyalaya Foundation, under Royal Patronage, and Mahamakuta Buddhist University has printed the book Plan of Life, a literary work by Phra Nyanavarothama (Santankura Thera) the Sectetary-General of the Dhammayuttika Nikaya, with Mr. Siri Buddhasukh as the English translator and his assistant Mr. Chalerm Srinakornkhet. I would hereby like to express my appreciation to them, the writer and the translator also his assistant of this work.

        The Buddha, the Great teacher, with His great compassion, brings Happiness to beings one and all, great and small; He is an asylum, a refuge, a sanctuary, a place of security, and a shelter from manifold dangers.  By the expressing of this truth may Their majesties the King and Queen, who are of exalted virtue, live long and prosper having the Lord Buddha as their guide.
